Mock Collision/MADD Presentation
Posted on May 14th, 2018
The Red Deer RCMP along with the Red Deer Forensic Collision Reconstruction Unit and in conjunction with Notre Dame High School, M.A.D.D, and Red Deer Emergency Services will be setting up a mock collision and presentation on distracted/dangerous driving and the consequences on Thursday, May 17th, 2018 at 1:00pm. With new drivers taking to the roadways, we feel this is an important presentation and all students should be in attendance.

We will be following a condensed schedule for Thursday.
Block 1 - 8:48-9:36
Block 2 - 9:41-10:29
Block 3 - 10:34-11:22
Block 4 - 11:27-12:15
Lunch - 12:15-12:55
After lunch, we will have the students go back to Block 3, to take attendance. Once attendance is done, we are going to call the grade 11 and 12 students to the north parking lot where the mock accident will take place. Through conversations and meetings with MADD, RCMP and Red Deer Emergency Services, we decided that 1200 students outside was too many. Since our drivers are mainly 11 and 12s students, we thought it was best that they got to view the mock accident. This will take 40 minutes approx. We will then move to the gymnasium, where a presentation will occur for the entire school population. Once we know the mock accident is wrapping up, we will call the grade 10s down to the gym. The presentation in the gym will be a little over an hour.During the time when the grade 11/12 students are having the mock accident presentation, our Grade 10 students will be taking the STAR reading screen.
